Praise the Lord everyone. I welcome you all in this day, which is Lord’s Day.

I believe that you all will be well at your place. I thank God that he chose us all and made us worthy to be the one to take his name. I believe that after coming here all of you will be able to give thanks to God that he gathered us here.

   Before going into today’s word I want to tell all of you that you all are very special to God. God loves all of you very much. Because you all know that when God made this earth so what he said became the reality. God created all of this universe through his words. God created sky with his words, he created earth, he created sun in the sky, moon, stars God made it all. On earth God made animals, birds, plants and trees, creatures of the ocean all of it God created with his words. It happened just as God said.

   But when the turn to make human came on that time God didn’t use his words but he used his hands. God used his hands to make human being.

      Let’s read today’s scripture which is from Genesis 1:26-31. And chapter 2:7. By reading these verses we could understand that God made man in his own image.

(Verse 26-27) tells us that God made us into his own likeness. What it means is that there is something which is common in God and man. When God made man he had a special plan for him.

After God created man he put all of his creation into his hands. Gave authority to man over every creature of Earth, ocean and sky.

            In all of God’s creation the special one is man. Because God had a purpose to create man. Man was created for that purpose. You all are gathered here it is not without a purpose. God have a purpose for choosing you. God made man because he wanted to have a fellowship with him.

     God created man in his own image.  We can understand that our design is like that of God. Just as a son is the image of his father. In the same way man is also the image of God. The quality which is in God, the same quality is also in man.

 Because the scripture says that man was created in the image of God. God gave his breath and his spirit to man. That why there are similarities between man and God.

If you look at me and Gabriel you can understand. Gabriel and I have some similarities. Like our DNA, colour, our eyes, we have many similarities. If someone sees me and Gabriel together so they can say that it’s father and son.

In the same way, there are many things in man that match with God like spirituality, purity, love, kindness, honesty and many more. We have got all these qualities from God.

It is our duty to manifest these qualities. Because God gave us the authority of all his creation. We also have to protect this creation because of our qualities. This is under the plan of God.

     For God blessed man, and said be fruitful and fill the earth, subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, and all the creatures that move on the earth. (v.28).

                

  God gave man the right to rule in this creation. The way a king rules. This creation is in the hands of man; man has the right over it and also has to protect it. For this God gave him strength and wisdom. Man has to handle this creation by the qualities of God such as love, mercy, grace and peace.

(Verse 3:8) tells us that God used to meet Adam in the cool of the day. God wanted to have a fellowship with Adam. In God’s heaven there are so many angels but God loved man more than them. It is a very joyful thing for us.

(Verse 28-29) tells us that God gave man authority over this earth. And also provided food for him. Here is a wonderful love of God for man which is the greatest in all of the creation.

(Verse 2:7) God created man and he gave his breath and spirit inside of him. For that reason man was made into the likeness of God. 

In all of the living creatures in this universe there is only man that only in him the spirit of God dwells. The spirit of God is inside of you and me. It means that we all are in the likeness of God.

     

 Having the spirit of God within us, we need to live a good spiritual life. The spirit of God is within us due to which we can have fellowship with God. We all need to be able to preserve this grace. Due to which we can live in close proximity to God.

          As a human being, I thank God that he made me with his own hands.  He made me in his image and gave his soul with in me. 

     Therefore I should live in his will and  fulfill his command. I have the Spirit of God in me so I want to be able to live a spiritual life.
