Praise the Lord everyone. I welcome all of you today. I believe that you all are fine and I give thanks to the Lord that he has given us one more opportunity that we could learn from his words.

  

I believe that we all know today’s word very well. Here is a incident which is very famous. If we talk about that time than it is about 586 BC. When the king of Babylon enslaves Judah and from there, he chooses the wise and knowledgeable people for himself.

From the chosen there was included Daniel and his three friends.

 

 

Whose name Nebuchadnezzar changes to Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. And the king placed them into high positions in his kingdom. You can see it in from chapter 1-2.

But this happened because the king saw a dream and, in his dream, he sees that there is a large statue. Which is made up of gold and silver and bronze and of iron and some of baked clay. It was an enormous statue. And in the dream some time later there comes a large stone and it breaks the large statue.

 

meaning of this dream. And he could not find anyone in his kingdom who could tell his dream and the meaning of it. but Daniel tells the king his dream with its meaning. The king gets impressed with Daniel and he gives Daniel and his three friends jobs at the high places in his kingdom. He also accepts this fact that there is no God on this earth more powerful than the God of Daniel. But even after knowing God after sometime king Nebuchadnezzar makes a huge statue of gold that this statue should be considered as God and it should be worshipped. It is written in chapter 3. The height and width of this statue is written in the verse 1. And the king also commands that who does not fall down and worship this statue they will be thrown into the blazing furnace.

 

 

King Nebuchadnezzar even after knowing that the Lord is most powerful. And his kingdom will remain forever. He wanted to exalt himself higher than God by making the statue of gold. He wanted to make himself powerful and everlasting. He wants people may not worship God but they may worship him. Which is became a cause of pride in itself. This prideful. He wants his reign to be everlasting.

 

 

Now he was forcing everyone to leave their God and worship his statue or else they will lose their lives. For Jews now this is a big problem which was standing in front of them. Because they were commanded by Moses through the ten commandments and there was going to be a breach of 1-2 commandments over here. Do you know what are the first two commandments?? (Exodus 20:3-4).

 

Either break the God’s command or else lose your life. In the hot blazing furnace. Really it is very difficult to choose here or losing your life. I understand that there would be so many Jews here who would have worshipped that gold statue. But here are three friends who stood against the gold statue and against the command of the king. What do you think how much easy it is, to go against the command of the king? What price these three friends could be paying for disobeying the king’s order? First the king had appointed them at the high positions in his kingdom, they have to lose that position. And second that they have to go more than the God. In these situations, everyone accepted the king’s order. And it is very normal because there is a fear of death.

 

There are many people who deny God because of the fear of death. Or they give more importance to the king’s order more than God’s command. Here the meaning of king is the thing you give the highest place in your life. It could be your guardian or your job or your superior officer or your friend or any disease in which there is fear of death. In today’s time there are many people who not coming to the house of the Lord because of the fear of death. These things many times started to reign in our life. And we start to give them more importance than God.

and many times, we start to break those commands which we should not. And it happens when we start giving more importance to the things of this world. Especially your job, your superiors and your friends and may be your fears. These are some topics which we start giving more importance to. Because these things make our life comfortable. We don’t want to leave them at any cost and we don’t want to offend them.

then to God. but we should give the first place to God no matter how intense the situation maybe. Even if we lose these things. Give these things importance according to the word of God. as it is written in the Bible. Don’t give your friend , job and your superior officers more importance than God. and don’t give more importance to your fear also but lift it up.

 

Let’s move on to the words.

 

When Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego denied the king’s order then they were presented in front of the king. And the king gave them one more chance. So that they may worship the gold statue. But here it is commendable to see their answer and their confidence. Verse 15-18 tells us that they were not frightened in front of the king. And these three completely denied the king’s order and the statue. And out of the anger the king increases the fire of the furnace seven times more. But they didn’t get scared but they accepted God. there was no fear of death in their life. They have only one fear that don’t want to be separated from

someone who have faith like this? No, it is impossible. For people such as these God himself comes down. God left his throne to be with them in the furnace. Those who threw them in the fire they got burned but there was not a single hair burned from the head of these three. After sometime, the king saw that what had happened to those three. But now there were not three people but four. The king gets confused that we put three people in there how come there are four. The king went to see the death of those these friends but what he got to see was life.

 

Through today’s message I want to pull your attention to this that when we chose God than God gives us life. He removes death from our lives. You will receive life through your faith. And through the works of faith God will help you. You must choose God. even though the circumstances are against you. People will gossip about you or they say bad things behind your back. They will also stand against you. They will intend to harm you. And all of these things will happen because they will not want that you may live separated to them. But you have to keep yourself from their fellowship and you have to choose God. through whom you will be able to get life.
