Title: Jesus came to give life.

Bible: Genesis 4:1-8

Key verse: John 10:10

10. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

1. Adam made love to his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, “With the help of the Lord I have brought fortha man.”

 2. Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil.

3. In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord

4. And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering,

5. but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.

6. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast

7. If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”

8. Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.”[ While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

Good morning, dear brothers and sisters.

I greet you in the name of Jesus Christ.

Thank you all for praying together for a week.

It was a very wonderful time praying with you all, God listens to the words of our every prayer and also fulfils them according to his timing.

Jesus says in Matthew 5:18,  For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

Jesus says every word of the Bible will be accomplished, even the smallest letter and stroke of a pen. In the same way, he values our every word of prayer when we speak with our mouth.

And I am so thankful to the Lord because some of our prayers have already been fulfilled.

I pray to God that we keep growing in prayer, and keep getting stronger.

Let us pray.

Dear loving God, we gathered here to praise your name, and thank you for giving us this wonderful opportunity to hear your word, May your word dwell in our hearts to bring goodness.

Thank you for the love you have for us, Thank you for what you are doing with our lives. May your presence be with us until the end.

We pray in Jesus name. Amen!!

This morning, I want to draw your attention to a story from Genesis 4. Here is the story of two brothers, Cain and Abel.

It was the third major story in the Bible after the creation account and the story of the Garden of Eden.

After God expels Adam and Eve from the garden of Eden, Eve conceives a child.

This child was Cain,  Adam and Eve's firstborn son. Then they have a second son called Abel.

Cain was the elder brother, and Abel was the younger, and as they grew in their lives, they specialised in their work according to their skills.

Abel was a shepherd, keeper of sheep.

While Cain was a farmer, tiller(Jotane vaala) of the ground

One day, Cain brought some of the crops he had grown, and presented them to God as an offering.

Abel also brought an offering of the firstborn of his flock’s sheep.

But whereas, God was pleased with Abel’s offering, he was less than pleased with Cain's offering.

The Lord looked with favour on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering, he did not look with favour.

Because cain took some of the fruit of the ground, while Abel gave of his best, firstborn.

Hebrews 11:4 By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.

Hebrews explains why Abel had a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain; the reason for this offering was faith.

Abel did not value his flock more than God but gave away his best.

Abel freely gave his best to God in faith.

Cain gave a generic offering, while Abel gave one of the best. For God, the quality/quantity of the offering did not matter, but the reason for giving an offering matters.

It made Cain so jealous, and then Cain became very angry, and his face was filled with sadness. (Verse 5).

Even though God explained to him that if you do right, you will not be accepted? But he did not listen to him.

And verse 8 says  Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let’s go out to the field." [ While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

Cain said something to his brother Abel. Let’s go out to the field.

Dear brothers and sisters,

How many of you love to praise God?

How many of you love to read the Bible?

How many of you love others, help others, and give joy to others?

How many of you love to come to church and spend time in his fellowship?

I think Abel was also like us.

He liked to please God, so he took his firstborn and offered it to God.

But there was someone, who was jealous of Abel, there was someone who was burning from inside when Abel was giving an offer to God, there was someone  who was looking at Abel with the eyes of revenge, therefore, someone who was angry to see Abel and God’s relationship, there was someone who wanted to destroy Abel.

His name was Cain.

There is someone in your life too.

When you say, I will read the Bible today, but there is someone who does not want you to read it,

When you say I will go into God’s fellowship, but there is someone who does not want that you go,

When you say today I will pray for 10 minutes, I will pray for half an hour, and I will pray for 3 hours, there is someone who does not want to.

When you pray that from today onwards, God, I will love this brother, that sister, or my parents, then there is someone who does not want this.

Whatever the Lord tells you to do, and when you do it, He is jealous of you, he’s frustrated, he’s angry, he's a liar, he's only come to make us weak, he does not want us to be in fellowship, he does not want us to have love; and he does not want us to have life.

When Abel was doing what was pleasing to the Lord, there was Cain, who was jealous and frustrated.

He came to him and said something in his ear.

"Let’s go out to the field. (Aa maedan me chale).

Because Cain knew that he would not be able to destroy Abel in the house, he would be able to destroy him where he would be weak, and that place was the field, As Abel went to the field, he was killed by Cain.

Like this, the enemy wants to take me and you to that field.

He’s jealous of us a lot, he’s frustrated, and he is red with anger, therefore, he says, Let’s go out to the field.

He has many fields where he wants to take us and destroy us.

His best field at the moment is this PHONE (INTERNET).

Today, everything is on this phone, and youth are totally captive to it.

He's showing them what they shouldn't see.

He's telling them what they shouldn't hear.

He kept feeding and drinking them all that they should not eat or drink.

He's making them do what they shouldn't.

He is teaching them a language they should not speak.

He thought people to live in such an application where they should not have lived.

He taught people to commit fraud, which they should not have done.

Through this phone, he put in the hearts of the people all that should not have been in their hearts.

Really, this is the field, where he wants to take it, and why is he taking it?

To destroy.

John 10:10

The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Jesus says the thief purpose only to steal, kill, and destroy.

He wants to make you weak, where you are strong.

When a thief comes in to steal, if there are two phones, a keypad, and a smart phone,

He will never take a keypad phone, but he will take a smart phone.

The enemy also wants to steal our best things and weaponize our weaknesses.

Be aware, if someone is taking you to the field, he is taking you to destruction.

Satan, hates us always. He's jealous of us.

He wants to take away the presence of God.

And finally, he wants to destroy us.

But Jesus says, I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.

Do you know why Jesus came into your life?

He comes so that you may have life.

This bible has life, Now Satan will tell you, Oh, you do not need to carry this bible; always see in this it has.

But try to carry your Bible. Read more and more of the words of the Lord in your personal Bible.

It will help to always avoid the voice, Let’s go to the field.

However, it will always provide voice in your ears.

Jesus loves you.

Jesus wants and keeps you always in the presence of God.

Jesus has a life for you.

Dear brothers and sisters:

Keep doing what you are doing for the kingdom of the Lord, but do it with faith.

Get the best for him, and always keep in mind that the enemy wants to take you to the field.

Whenever he will say it in your ear, let's go out to the field. Tell him in a loud voice that I will not go.

But he'll probably tell you again, "Let's go out to the field.

Then your response should be more powerful than before, I will not go.

Because Jesus loves me, he wants that I may be in the presence of God, and Jesus has life for me.

Amen.
